iPhone X touch gestures and commands guide


All you need to know about doing the usual actions on the new iPhone, which is deprived of the Home button.

Use gestures to navigate your iPhone X

1. Turn on the smartphone  – iPhone X touch gestures

To turn on the iPhone X, you need to press and hold the side button (it’s called now).

2. Turn off the smartphone

To turn off, you need to simultaneously press and hold the side button and one of the volume buttons until the shutdown slider appears, and then move it.

3. Sleep mode

4. Summoning Siri

You can call Siri on iPhone X in two ways: to hold the side button or say “Hi Siri”.

9. Switching applications

To switch between applications, it is enough to swipe along the bottom edge of the display in any direction. You can end the application if you hold your finger on his card, then click on the minus sign in the corner of the card.

10. Opening of the “Management Point”

To quickly change the settings and functions through the “Control Point” you need instead of the usual brushing from the bottom up to make a gesture of whipping away from the right upper edge of the screen down.

11. Shooting a screenshot

Screenshots in the new iPhone X are made by simultaneously pressing the side button and the volume increase button.

12. Reachability call

To activate Reachability and shift the screen down, you need to make a gesture of brushing down from the bottom edge of the display, as if pulling the gesture panel. To return to full-screen mode, it’s enough to do a reverse swipe from the bottom up.

By default, this feature is disabled. It must be independently enabled in the universal access settings (“Settings” → “General” → “Universal access” → Reachability).

13. Force reboot

To force the iPhone X to restart, you must simultaneously hold down the volume control buttons, and then press and hold the side button until the Apple logo appears.
