How to solve iPhone Flashlight or Torch Problems

iPhone flashlight won’t turn on: iPHONE 6, 5S, IPHONE 7 AND IPHONE 4S, iPhone Flashlight not working.

Step 1

Swipe from the bottom to the top of your iPhone to display the Control Center. Tap the flashlight icon to turn on the camera flash. If the camera light doesn’t turn on, take your camera in for servicing. If the camera light does turn on, you have a software-related problem that you can fix on your own.

Step 2

Tap the “Camera” app and check to see that the top right option on the Camera app displays the word “Off.” Tap the “Off” text and select “On” to enable the flash. If the camera flash works at this point, you can select the “On” text and change it to “Auto” to use the flash only when needed.

Step 3

Double-click the Home button and swipe the Camera app’s preview screen in an upward direction to close the app. Launch the “Camera” app again and try taking a picture.

Step 4

Launch the “Camera” app and switch between the front and rear camera to see if that solves your problem. Press the Camera icon in the Camera app to toggle between the front and rear camera. Take several pictures with the flash set to the “On” position.

Step 5

Select the “Settings” app, tap “General” and choose “Restrictions.” Check to see that you set the “Camera” option to the “On” position.

Step 6

Reboot your iPhone by holding down the “Sleep/Wake” button. When the red slider appears, swipe the button from left to right. Press the “Sleep/Wake” button again to start your iPhone once it shuts down.

First, make sure the phone is COMPLETELY dry. I would take off the rear panel, disconnect the battery and leave it alone for several days. If you want, you can put it in a bag of rice to help soak up any moisture.

Try a soft reset of the phone. On your iPhone 4, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for about ten seconds. The phone should restart.

If that doesn’t work, try a restore.

How to adjust the intensity of the light

A little trick you probably do not know is that it is possible to regulate the intensity of the flash light. It is as easy as displaying the Control Center and holding down the corresponding icon . Using 3D Touch will open a small menu in which we can select “Bright, normal or dim light.”

Very useful if you want to see in the dark but you do not need to dazzle everything around you.

Most likely, if it does not work, there is an application that is using it . That the flash is not on does not mean that it is being manipulated by any process. Remember the apps you’ve recently installed. You see it erasing one by one at the same time you try to turn on the flashlight. There will come a point where it will be activated, and you will have detected which application was causing the failure.

If there has not been luck, the action of turning the iPhone off and on , however basic, solves problems.

Finally, if none of the above has worked, a hardware component will be defective . Go to your nearest Apple Store or authorized center for a diagnosis. It is possible that some cable has been disconnected or a part of the interior has been damaged. iPhone flashlight won’t turn on: iPHONE 6, 5S, IPHONE 7 AND IPHONE 4S, iPhone Flashlight not working.?

Does the iPhone flashlight not work for you? How to fix it and regulate its intensity

I still fondly remember the time when you had to download a particular app to use the flash of the iPhone as a flashlight. And if the iPhone did not have flash the screen was completely blank.

In the latest versions of the iPhone it is no longer necessary to download anything to use the “function” Flashlight . Just open the Control Center and touch the corresponding icon to turn on the flash. Of course there are flashlight apps in the App Store. Some with more complete than the solution offered by Apple as standard. But if you do not need anything else integrated in iOS is enough.

However, the iPhone flashlight does not always work properly . It is possible that sometimes you have found that you hit the Control Center button and it is not activated. The icon remains gray and no matter how hard you press it does not respond. What’s wrong?

Why the flashlight on your iPhone does not work?

Most likely, if it does not work, there is an application that is using it . That the flash is not on does not mean that it is being manipulated by some process. Remember the apps you’ve recently installed. You see it erasing one by one at the same time you try to turn on the flashlight. There will come a point where it will be activated, and you will have detected which application was causing the failure.

The small problems we see in software can be annoying, but I think they are nothing compared to what we can physically notice. That has been a problem that we have reported in which an iPhone 5s saw as its flash was never turned off , and never means never. What can be happening to an iPhone so your flash does not turn off and what can I do to fix it?

The flash light on my iPhone is never turned off

Then what do we do? Well, most likely the problem is physical , but we can always try a couple of things before you get it repaired.

    Take a photo with flash

We already know that the flash is on, but we will try to cause a kind of reset. For this, the only thing we will have to do first of all is to open the Camera application, make sure the flash is activated and take a picture . With (much) luck, this will make, once taken the photo, everything returns to the normality.

    Force a reboot

You probably have already read this solution many times, so much that it can get tired, but is that Apple says unofficially that forcing a restart fixes up to 80% of those small software problems that we can not otherwise solve. We will force a reboot as follows:

    1. Press the home button and the shutdown button at the same time. If we have an iPhone 7 or an iPhone 7 Plus, the home button is replaced by the volume button below.
    2. Keep both buttons until you see the apple.
    3. When we see the apple, we release the buttons.

We’ll know if it worked right away. If not, we can always wait for the operating system to start to see if the flash goes off once and for all.

    Restore and update

If you got here, it does not look very good. I think that forcing a reboot should turn off our rebellious light if the problem were out of software, but before we start moving things to take or sending our iPhone to Apple, we can still take it one step further. It is about restoring the iPhone with iTunes and doing a clean installation (without recovering backup). During the process, we will also see if any updates are available. If there is, it is best that we install it, so that we will be sure to be using the latest version without dragging any possible software failure.

    Bring it to repair

This is what we mentioned at the beginning of the post, that the most likely failure was a physical breakdown and it took a repair iPhone. In this case we will have three options available, four if you are very daring:

    • Call Apple for them to repair the iPhone . If we live near or in a country where we can send our iPhone to an Apple official workshop, it is best to call to schedule an appointment at an Apple Store or pick up from our iPhone.
    • Call Apple to take it to an authorized retailer . This is similar to the previous point, but for those who do not have an official establishment nearby. The warranties should be the same as those offered by Apple itself.
    • Take the iPhone to an unauthorized place . Like car workshops, there are also establishments that are supposed to be able to repair any electronic device, with some specialized in mobile devices. In this type of establishments we can find everything, for good and bad. Careful with this.
    • Repair it ourselves . Most likely, if you are reading this post is because you are not able, but it is an option for the handyman.

I hope you have managed to turn off the light of your flash. How did you do it?

Flash is stuck or not working

If you see the LED flash coming on when the camera application opens, you may have had the iPhone flashlight function on since the last time you used it and you forgot to turn it off . This can sometimes happen in broad daylight when it is not dark enough to see that your flash is still on, and that usually increases battery power. To solve this, simply turn on the flashlight from the Control Center.

If the flash does not turn on in any way, and you do not see any logical reason, check that you have not placed the iPhone anywhere hot or used the terminal in a long video recording. Under certain circumstances, the iPhone is set to turn off the LED flash when it is overheated , as it prevents excessive overheating. Once the iPhone cools down, everything should go back to working perfectly.

In the App Store there are numerous applications that allow you to use the LED that accompanies the iPhone camera or the fifth generation iPod Touch as a flashlight. Thus, in addition to being able to take advantage of the light-emitting diode to take pictures with low ambient light, we can also use it to illuminate dark environments where we need extra light to walk or look for something.

Flashlight is one of these applications that stands out for its careful interface and some interesting options that we will see below.

Surrounding this button we see a large slider that is used to activate the strobe mode thanks to which the LED blinks. By moving the slider we will vary the frequency of flickering from plus to minus or vice versa, in addition, a representation of a green LED will show the rhythm of blinking.

Finally, in the lower part we will see the second slider that serves to measure the intensity to which the LED shines , being able to choose between several levels available according to our needs.

Regarding its interface, Flashlight offers a huge power button that changes to an orange hue when the iPhone LED is on and reddish when off.Although Flashlight is a good application to illuminate, in the App Store there are even more complete applications. A good example of this is Light from which we talked to you a few weeks ago. In addition to doing the same as Flashlight, Light offers an SOS mode that can help us in our mountain getaways and also offers a strobe mode with many more flicker frequencies for the rear LED.

In spite of having more complete applications and with a remarkably better interface, Flashlight now top the highest positions of the App Store , being one of the free ones that more downloads are getting. Your only method of funding is a small banner at the bottom of the screen that is nothing intrusive.

In its favor , Flashlight is compatible with the iPad that despite not having LED for the rear camera, the application will bring the screen brightness to the maximum with a white background to illuminate as much as possible.

    • Download the ‘Led Flashlight’ application.

The iPhone incorporates an LED bulb on its back that you can use as a flashlight by itself. But we recommend that you download the following application to get more out of it: Led Flashlight . You’ll find it in iTunes or in the App Store .

    • 2Light up with the LED bulb, or with the display.

The use of this flashlight is very simple. Clicking on the ‘LED’ button will illuminate the light bulb on the back of the iPhone. If on the other hand you press the button above, the screen of the phone of the color you have chosen will light up.
